How a Soak Tank Can Solve Your Greasy Kitchen Issues

Whether you’re a chef, kitchen manager or a restaurant owner, you spend too much time thinking about how best to clean the grossest items in your kitchen. The baked-on pans, the greasy vent hood filters, the scrubbing, oh, the scrubbing.

We’re here to answer your questions about soaking your cookware so you can stop scrubbing and get back to what you’d rather be doing; running your kitchen.

Is it safe to soak my cookware?

Being in a kitchen day in and day out, you know that not all of your equipment is created equally.

Pots, pans, and baking sheets often go through some of the worst wear and tear in a kitchen. Burnt-on food, baked-in grease, fats, and oils are simply hard to clean without some assistance. If you’re using insanely high-temperature water and harsh degreasers, not only are your employees likely getting burnt and injured, but your cookware is getting damaged as well.

Soaking your cookware is both environmentally safe and employee-friendly. No more ruined aluminum or workplace injuries related to scraping and scrubbing.

What items can I clean in a soak tank?

Here’s a short list of items in your kitchen you can soak in your soak tank:

  • Vent hood filters
  • Drip pans
  • Bakeware
  • Fry Baskets
  • Sauce Pans
  • Racks
  • Grates
  • Drip Trays
  • Pizza pans
  • Serving Utensils

How long do I soak this for?

Let’s face it, kitchens are a busy place and you don’t always have the time to deep clean every item every single day. Especially when those items are things like broiler grates and oven racks.

However, the fact remains that they do need to be cleaned in order to maintain a sanitary environment for your staff as well as for your clientele. The problem is some of these items are also extremely tough to clean simply by scrubbing away. Not to mention the labor, time, and cost that goes into doing so. You could use a heated tank, but those aren’t necessarily the safest option.

Our soak tanks are a non-heated, safer option that provides the deep clean you need with a concentrated soap that’s safe for everyone to use. Our DSC biodegradable, non-corrosive soap eats away at the buildup in such a way that heat isn’t required. Yet, it provides the same, if not better results of the unsafe, heated tanks. Check out the chart below for our recommendations of how long these harder to clean items should soak.

You can find Soak Tanks and our DSC soap ala carte in our Distributor or Retail Store. Or to make soap replenishment really simple, sign up for a Soak Systems Soap Club Subscription.
